Do you like coffee as much as I do? If you like coffee you should totally try this fun dalgona coffee trend! What is Dalgona Coffee anyway? Dalgona coffee is a drink that was invented in Korea according to Wikipedia. It is made by whisking equal parts instant coffee (I used freeze dried), sugar and hot water until it is thick. Then you scoop it on top of your favorite milk or milk alternative. What started this whipped coffee trend?Honestly, it appears that people were trying to make coffee shop fancy coffee at home during the Covid stay at home time. People on social media dubbed it the quarantine coffee. How Do You Make This Dalgona Coffee: It is really easy to make and you can add your own variations to customize it to your fancy. You need instant coffee, sugar or sugar alternative, milk or milk alternative, and hot water. A whisk will come in handy too I used an electric whisk that came with my emersion blender. And of course, a glass to whip it in. That’s it! It’s super easy! First step is to add the coffee, sugar and water to a cup. I found that you get frothy thick coffee faster in a glass that has narrow sides vs a bowl. Now you get to whip…whip…whip it good! You can stop whipping when you have reached the desired thickness. What Would Make This More Delicious? I am not a huge fan of sugary drinks, so I might not have the same fancy additions as you if you like sugary drinks. I used organic raw sugar when I filmed the video, however, I have also made it with Monk fruit sweetener, Coconut sugar or Erythritol and it works just fine. Try adding cinnamon, cacao powder, or dust some Flavor God pumpkin spice over the top. There are so many options! Use your imagination! We love watermelon, especially in the summer! I usually cut up a watermelon and we eat it all, however this drink is perfect if you have any leftover watermelon as well! If you didn’t want to add the Tequila it is very yummy by itself as watermelon juice! Super yummy and probably really good for you considering all of the vitamins! I know you can buy watermelon juice at the store but home made is so easy and only takes 5 minutes! Enjoy! HERE’S HOW TO MAKE THEM: Remove the rind from your watermelon and cut it into chunks. Peel and slice some limes. Peel and slice some lemons. Melt some honey in the microwave, or use the sweetener of your choice. Add watermelon to a high powered blender and blend. I like to strain out some of the pulp first before adding the other ingredients. If you like it pulpy, skip this step. Add in the lemons, limes, honey, tequila and orange liquor. Blend again. Serve it over ice in a salt rimmed glass! Cheers! Watermelon Margaritas Delicious and refreshing Watermelon Margaritas! SERVINGS 4 -6 INGREDIENTS

You can add vanilla bean if you like vanilla almond milk. I am also making some snacks for the plane and using the almond left overs to make Against All Grain’s Almond Cookies. There are 10 of us going to Hawaii so I thought we might need a snack on the 6.5 hour flight. Almond Milk: 1 cup organic raw almonds- soak 6 hours or overnight. Rinse well. 4 cups water Place all items in a blender and blend for about 30 seconds until almonds are blended. Strain through a cheesecloth and metal strainer to remove almond pieces Enjoy!!! I love the smell of cinnamon and spices combined with coffee… yummy! It’s like eating pumpkin pie with coffee but it’s in one cup! Let fall come because I am ready for all of the pumpkin treats! Original Post was written 09/03/2014 and updated 1/24/22. WHY DO I MAKE MY OWN PUMPKIN PIE COFFEE CREAMER? I recently had to break up with a seasonal icon that signified fall for me. For many years when this latte came out, I knew it was fall! AKA- Starbucks. Due to the ingredients used by said company and because they possibly contain gluten (in some flavors) and not to mention gross chemicals I had to call it quits. See Food Babe. HOW DID THIS PUMPKIN PIE OR PUMPKIN SPICE TREND START? According to Corporate Coffee Systems, the trend started over a hundred years ago with Pumpkin Pie or Pumpkin Spice things but the Pumpkin Spice latte craze started here in the USA in 2003. Pumpkin Pie Coffee flavors started popping up at cafes in the late ’90s and it took off from there! I can’t say that I disagree with the trend that keeps on trending! I used to get a Pumpkin spice latte or Pumpkin spice Frappuccino often in the early 2000s! Pin me NOW make me LATER! Here is my take on Pumpkin Pie Coffee Creamer. It is not as sweet as said company’s but I don’t like sweet coffee. If you like your coffee sweeter you can add more honey. Happy Pumpkin Season! WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE PUMPKIN PIE COFFEE CREAMER? Gluten Free Pumpkin Pie Coffee Creamer: 1 can coconut milk (full fat) 2 cups unsweetened almond milk 1/2 can pure pumpkin 3 – 4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice 1/2-1/3 cup honey 2 vanilla bean pods split and eseeded with a knife. HOW DO I MAKE THIS? Heat all ingredients in a pot until warm. The honey should melt and the vanilla should fragrance the milk mixture. I whisked to combine as it got warm. Place in a BPA Free container and store in your fridge! Mason Jars work great for storing coffee creamer. I made enough for 2 mason jars. I decided to keep one and give one to a friend for taste testing. Thankfully, she does not like sweet coffee as well! Split the vanilla beans and scrape the seeds into the heated milk. Heat and wisk all ingredients together Store in a jar in the fridge IF YOU LIKE THIS RECIPE, YOU MAY LIKE: HAVE YOU TRIED THE DALGONA COFFEE TREND?– coffee for your coffee creamer!
