Who doesn’t love bacon? I actually have one friend that doesn’t love bacon, but I love her anyway! This bacon braised cabbage and onions is seriously my favorite side dish! It goes great with any protein you are serving and is delicious!
People who don’t like cabbage will like this.
It is Paleo, Ketogenic and tasty! It goes together super fast and is really easy to make.
When my friend Christine comes over, she requests this as a side dish to whatever we are having! I love that she enjoys it!
Here’s what you need to make this recipe!
You will need one head of either red or green cabbage or a mixture of both.
One package of bacon- you need 4 slices.
One Yellow Onion.
Salt and Pepper
That’s it! This recipe is super simple!
This is how we do it.. sung to the tune of the Montell Jordan lol!
Slice the bacon into bite-sized pieces.
Cook them in a skillet over medium heat. You want them to get nice and crispy!
Then add in the onion(chopped) and saute it for a few minutes.
Add in the cabbage(chopped) and saute it until it starts to get soft.
Sprinkle in the garlic powder and salt and pepper.
It is ready when the cabbage isn’t too soft or too crunchy.
Voila! You are ready to eat!
